The 2024 12th New Zealand Asia Pacific Film Festival officially opened on the evening of 1st November at SkyCity in Auckland, with over 150 distinguished guests from both New Zealand and abroad attending the red carpet welcome ceremony. The event marks the beginning of a week-long celebration of cinema from across the Asia-Pacific region.
This year’s festival is jointly organised by the New Zealand Asia Trust, New Zealand Māori Tourism, New Zealand Culture and Arts Foundation, and New Zealand Chinese Culture and Arts Exchange Centre. The opening ceremony was attended by approximately 700 guests from various sectors of the community, showcasing a vibrant cross-cultural exchange through the medium of film.
The festival promises to offer a diverse array of films, promoting dialogue and collaboration among the Asia-Pacific nations. With its diverse programming, the festival aims to highlight the richness of the region’s cinematic talent and foster greater understanding and appreciation of Asia-Pacific cultures.The opening night was a resounding success, setting the stage for what is expected to be a spectacular week of films, discussions, and cultural events.
新西兰亚太电影节11月1日晚在奥克兰天空城开幕，来自海内外150多位嘉宾出席电影节红毯欢迎仪式。本届新西兰亚太电影节由新西兰亚洲信托基金会，新西兰毛利旅游局，新西兰文化艺术基金会，新西兰华夏文化艺术交流中心共同举办。社区各界人士约700名观众出席了当晚开幕式。
开幕式首先由亚太电影节主席李勃先生致欢迎词，Melissa Lee部长为电影节开幕致贺词，新西兰毛利旅游局代表Glen Katu先生发言预祝电影节圆满成功。中国电影家协会副主席尹鸿先生也向电影节发表祝词演讲。开幕式由Melissa Lee部长，电影节主席李勃先生，日本驻奥克兰总领事Shinji Matsui先生，中国驻奥克兰副总领事王俊超先生，韩国驻奥克兰副总领事Joon Ho Lee先生共同启动新西兰亚太电影节开幕仪式。
亚太电影节将展映韩国，日本，新西兰，及中国的多部影片，其中包括人气旺盛的中国电影《默杀》, 日本电影《哥吉拉MINUS ONE》《The Scoop》，韩国电影《冬天的故事》，中国西藏电影《洛桑的故事》，《长安》，《落尘世》以及新西兰最新票房影片《Bookworm》等。中国电影《默杀》荣获本届电影节最佳影片奖，导演柯汶利荣获最佳导演奖，演员张钧甯荣获最佳女演员奖。《洛桑的家事》编剧芦苇荣获最佳编剧奖，动画片《落尘世》荣获最佳动漫奖。亚太电影节短片‘KOI’ 荣获亚太电影节短片单元最佳短片奖。
颁奖仪式后放映电影《默杀》，柯汶利导演以及张钧甯女士在映后与现场观众互动，回答观众的提问，现场热烈。
亚太电影节期间还将举办电影论坛、电影讲座、韩国之夜、日本之夜等系列活动，11月10日将举办The New Order Youth International Film Festival新秩序青年国际电影节短片颁奖仪式。
亚太电影节电影展映将从11月2日至10日在Capitol Cinema影院举行。
